Garmin eTrex Vista: Wish it had USB

I have the Garmin eTrex Vista. It is four years old and has a serial connection with my lap top. I don not like the serial connection because my lap top does not have a 9 pin connection. I have tried to use a USB / Serial converter kit from Belkin but it didn't work well at all. Most of the time I got a message that there was no GPS connected. Very frustrating. However, the GPS itself is great. I really like it.

I have taken it to summit several 14er peaks in Colorado and have never had problems. Now the battery consumption is a bit high and I've had to carry extra batteries. This is a great GPS. I'm getting rid of mine and getting another with the USB connection.
