Garmin GPSMAP62S

Purchased the new Garmin 62s hand held GPS for walkers, hill climbers and other outdoor pastimes.
The display is very very good even in bright sunshine. The buttons are easy to work with gloves. The satellite reception was perfect, even in gorges and in deep forest.
It is water proof. If you use a good quality of rechargeable batteries you can get a solid 25 hours plus of use from a set of two AA batteries.
The map sets are on micro sd cards and work very well. They even have some basic paths and bridleways marked on the 50K sets.
UNFORTUNATELY Garmin do not cover the whole of the UK at 25K, AND the custom maps are limited to 100 tiles, or a small area. Thus I would only give 4-1/2 stars out of 5. A great pity, as the rest of the GPS is truly excellent.
