Magellan Explorist 100 Pros and Cons

I own a Magellan Explorist 100 and use it for exploring locations in remote areas. I have found it to be very accurate and reliable and easy to use.
Pros: Small and easily transported; uses AA batteries; easy to use; accurate and reliable; very affordable - does everything I need.
Cons: Very few if any real cons. Cannot recharge the batteries in the unit, they need to be replaced daily, as 8-12 hours operation is the norm for nicads. The white lettering on the buttons eventually rubs or wears off. Only 8 characters available for each saved point, meaning some place names need to be abbreviated.

Overall an excellent, rugged unit that will enable you to save locations and find your way back to camp even on the darkest night.
