Recommending Against the Magellan eXplorist 100's Limited Capability

I purchased the Magellan eXplorist 100 for my students to use to learn about GPS. It doesn't allow for maps to be uploaded to it, and there is no SD card space to add anything to the device. If you are okay without topo maps or any other addition you might like to add, this is the unit to buy.

I also have a hard time believing that it is waterproof at all. The back panel doesn't shut flush with the device, questioning if it is a tight seal.

I would not recommend this model. If you have the extra 30-50 dollars to buy a model with a USB computer connection, it is well worth the extra $$.
