Regret Magellan Triton 400 Purchase

by Frank
(Tempe, AZ)

I exchanged my old Magellan GPS (9 yrs old) for a new Triton 400 and regretted the decision. The old unit was easy to use, the new one is difficult. The new one locks-up usually when I first turn it on. I have to remove the batteries for it to reset. Very hard to find the screen that you want. My GPS use is very basic. All I want is Lat, Lon, elevation and maybe vehicle speed (not necessary). I use the GPS when guiding a party to camping locations in AZ. Really sorry and I miss my old unit.

awfull customer service
by: Anonymous

as do I, a usless piece of dung. customer service was pathetic. offshore (India)? rude, no idea what I was talking about. phoned 4 times each time told someone would get back to me within hours.Hey 24hrs to a day, NOT 4 EFFIN MONTHS and counting. whole problem started with Magelan's update. MAGELLAN GET A GRIP!
I will not buy another magellan product, I will do my best to steer anyone away from your products. Stop telling your selves you are a world leader.
ALL you need to do is have reasononable customer service, yours is bottom of the ladder. things breakdown, a reality. be prepared to fix them!
