SONY NV-U83T - Cannot Get India Maps

I bought a Sony NV-U83T GPS from US with US and Canada maps. The price was very attractive and the functions also very good. But the tragedy is now in India I am unable to load any Indian maps. The platform/OS is not known. Sony is not answering the subject even after repeated emails.
