Geocoding is the process of converting non-spatial locational data into its corresponding spatial representation, most typically converting postal address data into geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude).
Enter a city or town name and get coordinates. Easier and quicker than below but fewer locations in the database (250,000). Click here
Enter a place-name and get coordinates. Not as simple and quick as above but many more locations in the database (5,500,000). Click here, then choose "GNS Search" in the upper left-hand corner.
If you wish to have the locations plotted on a map, write down the coordinates and enter them into "Plot Coordinates on a Map" above.
